Please note that new artists are featured each semester.
This fine arts course will expose students to the artistic works of the masters from the past. Each week students will study a famous artist, their time period and cultural influences, as well as their painting style. Students will then paint their interpretation of a masterpiece from that artist. This will strengthen the student's observational drawing and painting skills. Students will learn the art elements of layout, design, focal point, color theory, value, contrast, texture, lost and found edges and more. They will experience using a variety of art media including acrylic paint, watercolor paint, pastels, and clay. No prior artistic skills are necessary.
This course meets Thursday AM.
*This course has an additional $50 materials fee.
